Location

Fuentemar complex is situated on the outskirts of Garrucha town in the Almeria Province of Andalucia, Southern Spain, and comprises of approximately 270 privately owned town houses (duplexes) that encompass private well kept gardens, walkways and swimming pools, including infants pools. The pools are for residents use only and are enclosed, a lifeguard is normally on duty during the high season. Mojácar to the South and Vera to the North sandwich this area known as Vera playa, translating to the beach at Vera.

Garrucha is a working fishing port that boasts two marinas and is a 15 minute level walk from the complex along the pretty playa. The coast road has many restaurants and bars catering for most tastes, but concentrating on locally caught fish for which the town is famous. The days catch is auctioned on the quayside most afternoons and is well worth a visit. Local restaurateurs purchase their fish here so you are almost sure to eat locally caught fresh fish in the many restaurants that specialise in seafood dishes.

Five minutes walk from the complex is the award winning sandy beach which runs from Vera playa through to Mojacar playa with many beach bars, restaurants, etc. to enjoy as you stroll by. Tired or hot? then just sit and relax in one of the many shady palm tree islands and watch the world go by.

Cycle, scooter, boat, quad bikes, go-carts and light aircraft hire are available locally. Other activities include golf, water sports, deep sea diving, snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, wind surfing, water-skiing, banana boat, horse riding, bowls, tennis and an aqua park, open from May to August. All are within easy walking distance or a short bus/car ride away.

There is also a naturist beach about 10 minutes drive away for those of you who wish to bare all. .

An hourly bus service runs past the complex between Vera and Carboneras, servicing Garrucha and Mojacar. Although a car is not essential it is recommended if you wish to further explore the more isolated areas or find one of the numerous coves.

Bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops are conveniently situated adjacent to the complex.
